Kind-hearted shoppers give youngsters a Christmas to remember

Date published: 21 December 2012

Kind-hearted shoppers have brought Christmas cheer to vulnerable children.

Asda’s ‘Mission Christmas’ campaign saw shoppers donate more than 200 toys to the retailer’s Rochdale superstore. Once they have been wrapped and labelled the gifts will be distributed to youngsters who might otherwise wake up on Christmas Day without any presents to open.

Angela Hamer, Community Life Champion at Asda’s Rochdale superstore, said: “Asda is proud to have worked with the council on this wonderful project and we would like to thank our generous customers and colleagues in Rochdale for their support.”
