Santa’s Little Workshop at Matthew Moss High School

Date published: 19 December 2012

Students at Matthew Moss High School have been getting into the festive spirit in the School’s new MakerSpace area.

The Christmas Workshops, which have been running every Monday evening in December, have been a hit with learners and have introduced them to new crafting skills. So far learners have made cards, wreaths, snow-globes and crackers to give to their family and friends as gifts.

The workshops were set up to promote the MakerSpace to students but have attracted a lot of attention from the staff.

"The products being made in the MakerSpace are of such high quality, staff have been coming to ask if the learners are selling their creations! The workshops started off as a bit of festive fun, but have really helped the learners to improve their crafting skills" said Ms Brame, PBL Technician.

As the Christmas workshops come to an end, learners are keen to continue their extra-curricular activities in the MakerSpace, with many suggesting a ‘Craft Club’. Watch this space!
