Comet and Staples both closing in Rochdale

The Comet store in Rochdale, along with all other Comet stores, is to close its doors for good on Tuesday 18 December in what is the biggest retailing collapse since Woolworths, which went into administration four years ago, with the loss of 24,000 jobs.
Staples is also to close its store in Rochdale as part of its restructuring due to difficult trading conditions.
