Chris Davies MEP comments on West Coast Main Line decision

"Virgin will be regarded by many as a safe pair of hands operating trains on one of the busiest main lines in Europe quite competently.
"But a management contract for two years will do absolutely nothing to promote investment or stimulate fresh thinking, such as the development of a more frequent service from Liverpool to London, and more direct links to North West towns not yet on the electrified network, including Bolton and Blackpool."
