RRG Toyota community project raises £6000 for The Christie

Date published: 10 August 2012

RRG Toyota has announced that they have helped to raise almost £6,000 through Olympic-inspired sporting events for The Christie in honour of Karen Sibson.

So far the team, which includes colleagues of Karen’s brother Nick Partington who works alongside RRG for Toyota, has completed the 239 mile coast-to-coast ride, the Greater Manchester Cycle, the Liverpool to Chester ride, the Manchester to Blackpool ride and an additional 40 miles of the Trans-Pennine Trail.

Other activities completed by RRG staff include a 500-mile swim, 20km cycle and 5km run at the Nantwich Triathlon, the Great British Swim at Lake Windermere, the Great Manchester Run and the Manchester 10k Race for Life.

The fundraising team are continuing their efforts this summer as part of an even larger group, hoping to eventually raise a minimum of £15,000 so that Karen’s name can be placed on the Christie Tree of Hope.
