The winner of Rochdale’s Got Talent has been snapped up by a music publisher.
Ellysse Mason, 15, from Syke, was named Rochdale’s most talented in May this year at a glitzy grand final held at the Broadfield Hotel.
Since then things have gone from strength to strength for singer/songwriter Ellysse.
In August the teen, who writes all her own songs, performed at the Feel Good Festival and since then she has been asked to sing at the town centre Christmas lights switch on.
Ellysse is now working with NorthStar Music, a publisher for TV and radio jingles. Ellysse will have the opportunity to write new songs and pass on her existing material to the firm.
NorthStar create music for the world’s film and television companies including Fox, Universal, Warner, Sky, C4, BBC, and ITV.
Their music is easily recognised on well known advertising campaigns including MasterCard’s, Galaxy, Canon and Mercedes.
Ellysse said: “I feel really lucky and I am really excited. I am looking forward to getting the first brief.
“My friends keep saying ‘don’t forget me when you’re famous.’
“It is really exciting.”
Ellysse’s songs will be signed to the company but not herself giving her the opportunity to work with other people too.
Ellysse’s mum, Emma Travis, said: “It really is quite exciting. Everything has gone so fast, she’s still at school, she’s just 15 but I think this will help her and teach her a lot.
“This is what she wants to do and it is fabulous especially at her age.”
