Community arts festival on the way

Rochdale will soon be home to a community arts festival in an attempt to showcase the work of people in the borough and to bring people to the town.
The event, the brain child of Rochdale Township Chairwoman, Councillor Wera Hobhouse, has been privately sponsored and funding has been allocated.
The festival is likely to have the support of Rochdale’s two shopping centres, with the hope that empty units will be available to display the art work.
Councillor Wera Hobhouse said: “This is a fantastic event that will draw people into Rochdale town centre and showcase talent.
“I am really excited about this.”
