Last Friday, we reached a wonderful target of £250 for Francis House Children’s Hospice from the sales of wooden toys, key rings and cars. Thank you to all who bought one. Jemma Fitton from the hospice was delighted with the amount raised and stayed to present the children with their awards for achievement throughout the week. These were:

  • Reception - Dominic McArdle
  • Year 1 - Alex Burrows
  • Year 2 - Shelby Atherton
  • Year 3 - Emily Goodwin
  • Year 4 - Megan Hughes
  • Year 5 - Thomas Bray
  • Year 6 - Chloe Platt

Two classes had 100% attendance this week. These were Years 2 and 6. Well done to those children. The whole school attendance was a brilliant 98.7%.

Next week is football week and children should bring in their PE kit as usual but they may also be asked to bring it in on another day. Parents’ Evenings are on Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 October.

KS1 parents should sign up on the lists in the cloakroom whilst KS2 parents should have received a letter to request a time slot. Thursday is the Hallowe’en Disco for children – entry by ticket only. Friday is the final day of the half term and is also Wear Pink Day in aid of Breast Cancer. Children are invited to wear pink in support and any donations will be sent to the charity.

Have a good holiday and remember that school starts again on Monday, 1 November at 08.55 prompt. Dinner money for the half term will be £66.50 for 7 weeks and 3 days.
