Attendance
The winner of the attendance certificate week ending 8 October 2010 was Amber Class with an attendance of 100%. Excellent Amber Class. The overall attendance for the school was 96.7%.

Units 3 and 4 Talking Homework This week’s Talking Homework topic for Units Three and Four is: My perfect day, what would it be like for you? Please take some time to discuss this topic with your child over the weekend and we will be following it up in class during the coming week.

High school applications
I have been asked by the Local Authority to remind parents that the deadline for High School applications is the 22 October 2010. Parents can apply on line at www.rochdale.gov.uk.schooladmissions or by post using the forms sent out by the Local Authority (if you have mislaid your form additional copies are available from Rochdale MBC Pupil Services tel: 01706 925982)

Holidays
Just a reminder that school closes at 3.15 p.m. on Friday, 22 October and re-opens on Tuesday 2 November 2010.

Class boxes
I have organised a system in school where all monies, letters etc can be placed in the ‘class box’ – there is a box in every class, including Nursery. This ensures that monies, etc can be easily and safely taken down to the school office. If you have any letters or money for school please place these in the class box each morning.

Outdoor coats
It is vital that all children now have an outdoor coat in school during winter. Please ensure that your child has a coat to wear during morning and lunchtime playtimes and that the coat is labelled with their name.

Dogs on site
Please can I remind you that dogs should not be entering the school site and should not be off their leads. Thank you.

Bags to school
Next week you will receive your collecting bags for the School Council’s fundraising ‘Bags to School’. The bags should be filled with old clothes, bedding and textiles and returned to school on either Friday, 5 November or Monday morning 8 November. Please note the bags will be collected by Monday lunchtime. Please look out for a letter giving you more details. All the money raised will be used by School Council to help improve our school.
