Mental health care provider has won a national award

Pennine Care, which covers Rochdale, Bury, Tameside, Oldham, Stockport and Glossop, won the Best Partnership category in the AHCM (Association for Healthcare Communicating and Marketing) Communicating Health Awards in Birmingham. This was for their handbook and website project ‘With U in Mind’, which was praised for its comprehensive yet accessible style.

The project aims to help teenagers deal with everyday problems associated with mental health, containing stories, poems and illustrations written by young people.

With 30 entries, the award was hotly contested, and the nine shortlisted finalists were highlighted for particular praise, with the Chief executive of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust commenting on the high standard of entries, but particularly praising the wide partnership involvement.

Pennine Care Specialist Services Director, Keith Walker, said: “It’s one of those projects where it’s almost impossible to thank everyone who had some involvement. For me the real partnership celebration has been our internal one. It’s great to have operational services and central services working together like this and fantastic what we can achieve together.”
