Children in Littleborough have raised £550 for Marie Curie Cancer Care from completing a sponsored walk.
The children, in year two at Littleborough Community Primary School, took part in a sponsored walk around Hollingworth Lake in June as part of the school’s “fun, fitness and finance week.”
The money raised was presented to Eddie Holden from the Rochdale Support Group by the star fundraiser Eleanor Coupe who collected £200 of the total amount raised.
Mr Holden said: “It was lovely to attend the school assembly to receive such a generous cheque and have the opportunity to thank the school, all the children in year two who took part and their family and friends for supporting the charity so generously.”
Money raised will provide high quality nursing care, totally free, to give people with terminal cancer and other illnesses the choice of dying at home, supported by their families.
