Search is on for ‘Amazing Partnerships’ in Rochdale
Date published: 30 September 2010
Budding photographers in Rochdale are invited to take a picture that best illustrates an amazing partnership.
The competition has been launched by Specsavers on Yorkshire Street, Rochdale, in partnership with Pentax Cameras, to raise awareness of Specsavers’ national charity partner, Guide Dogs.
Rod Fullalove, store director in Rochdale said: “An amazing partnership can come in many forms, whether that’s an act of kindness, a helping hand or a sign of encouragement. This can be between friends, family or even between pets and their owners. You can really let your imagination run wild and show your creativity to represent the North West at the national exhibition in London.”
A total of ten regional winners will be selected to win a Pentax Digital SLR (KX Digital SLP) camera worth more than £500 and a £150 worth of Specsavers vouchers. Each winner, plus one guest, will also receive an all expenses paid trip to London to attend the press launch of the Amazing Partnerships exhibition by renowned photographer Adrian Houston, at the Haunch of Venison Gallery in London, where each winning image will be on display.

For many years, Guide Dogs UK has supported the blind and partially sighted in Rochdale by creating amazing partnerships, matching guide dogs with their owners. The Amazing Partnerships competition aims to raise awareness of the important role played by Guide Dogs and to develop the partnership between Guide Dogs and Specsavers, which launched in October last year. Specsavers stores across the UK have pledged to raise £250,000 to fund and train 25 new guide dog puppies.
