Sadia Dar, Simon Bailey and Debbie Ravey with staff who raised over £250 for charity in their lunch break
Staff at Rochdale Borough Council turned their lunch break into a special buffet to raise money for charity.
Employees based at Fashion Corner on Drake Street brought in their home cooked food and sold over 100 tickets for the event which was staged yesterday to celebrate the end of Eid.
Over £250 was raised, which will be shared between Springhill Hospice and the Pakistan Flood Appeal.
Team Leader Mohammed Iqbal said the charity buffet has become a popular annual event: “We’ve raised more than ever before this year. I know everyone has spent a lot of their own time at home cooking, which resulted in some fantastic tasty dishes which we all enjoyed.”
