Congratulations to class 5 for excellent attendance.
Congratulations also to Year 6 for winning excellent behaviour award. We received a phone call from a member of the public who was in the audience at the same time as our children went to attend a Halle orchestra concert. The gentleman was a retired head teacher who wanted to let St John’s know how very well behaved the children were at the concert. Thank you to that gentleman for taking the time to make the phone call.

GOVERNORS’ MEETINGS The next full governors’ meeting is at 3pm on Tuesday 19 October

HARVEST FESTIVAL
Our annual Harvest Festival was held on the morning of Friday 1 October. Thank you for your generous donations of tinned food, packets of food and fresh fruit and vegetables. The food donations were distributed to 2 hostels for homeless people in Rochdale.

The theme of ‘sharing food’ continues this coming Monday when our school kitchen will be cooking a bowl of white rice and a slice of bread for those who are participating in this event. We call it ‘Live simply’ day which came from the slogan ‘Live simply so that others can simply live’. Donations to CAFOD will be gratefully accepted.

ST CUTHBERT’S ARTS FESTIVAL
This annual event takes place on Tuesday 12 October. Year 6 are performing along with the other RC feeder Primary schools as always and further details will be sent out from school during the week ahead.

HALLE NEWS
Year 6 will also be at the culmination event for their collaboration with a player from the famous Halle orchestra. This will take place on Friday 8 October at Sandbrook Primary school during the afternoon.
