Cash machine stolen from Rochdale shop
Date published: 27 September 2010
A cash machine was stolen from a convenience store in Rochdale.
At around 2:15am on Friday 17 September 2010, three men attached a chain to the shutter covering the side door of Raja Brothers Bargain Booze store on Manchester Road, and attached the other end to their van.
The men then drove away, pulling the security shutter away from the door.
They then forced open the door to the shop and pulled a cash machine away from the floor. They loaded it into their van and drove off towards Roch Valley Way.
Detective Constable Sam Taylor, of Rochdale CID said: “What these men have done is completely unacceptable.
“It will have taken some time to do what they did, so hopefully somebody witnessed the incident.
“If anybody has any information that will help our investigation, please get in touch.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Greater Manchester Police on 0161 872 5050 or the independent charity, Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
