Early Start Club
Just a reminder of the price of admission to the club - £1.00 per session. The children will be able to buy breakfast as previously.
It is because of the obvious dangers for children arriving at school unsupervised that I will absolutely insist that any children arriving at school before 8.30 a.m. who are not accompanied by an adult will automatically be put into the Early Start Club so that they are supervised and safe.
The School Day starts at 8.40 a.m. and ends at 3.15 p.m.
Tea Time Club
Just a reminder of the price of admission to the club - £1.50 per session.
Please note that any children not collected from school by 3.30 p.m. will be supervised in the club at the appropriate charge to parents.
Labels, Labels, Labels, Labels, Labels
Please, please label everything your child brings to school this will make returning misplaced items much easier as well as making it easier to double check the ownership of disputed items. Without your support it is impossible to return misplaced items.
Earrings (Hoops), Nail Varnish and Hats
Children who wear earrings must wear studs only in school. Wearing loopy or dangly earrings cause the possibility of a risk of harm to the children. During P.E. the earrings (studs) must be removed or covered with surgical tape which should be kept in the child’s pump bag. Increasing numbers of the girls are wearing nail varnish and make up in school – a reminder to you that all forms of make-up are unnecessary for school. The children will be reminded to remove it before they come to school. This is all contained in the School Wear –Parents Pamphlet for parents do ask at the office if you want a copy. A reminder that all children need a hat in school to wear when necessary.
No Smoking
Just a reminder that Shawclough is a ‘No Smoking School’, which means that smoking is not allowed in any part of the school and grounds. Please help us by supporting this policy.
Dogs
Reminder – please do not bring dogs onto the school site. Thank you.
Tools of Africa
Our children will be involved in raising money to buy equipment for school children in Africa. Some will be helping to make up sets of pens and paper. More detail will be sent out at a later date.
Numeracy WorkshopsWe will be holding Numeracy workshops in school – each unit will send out details soon.
Dinner Money
Dinner money is now £8.75 per week. If you do not send the correct amount into school anything over £8.75 will be credited to your account.
