Date published: 16 September 2010

Officers from the Middleton Neighbourhood Policing team have seized 25 cannabis plants and made an arrest.

A warrant was executed at a house on Martindale Crescent in Langley today, (Thursday 16 September 2010).

A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of producing cannabis and remains in police custody.

Inspector Gary Hall said: "Cannabis blights our communities and we hope that seizing these plants today sends a strong message about our tough, proactive stance on drugs.

"We are grateful to members of the community for their vital information and we would urge anyone who thinks they may know of drug dealers and suppliers to call us."

Anyone concerned about drug dealing in their area should call police on 0161 872 5050 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
