Nominate your favourite Rochdale location

Date published: 11 September 2010

Rochdale is bursting with exciting venues, elegant buildings and places of outstanding local beauty, but how often do we get to shout from the rooftops about our favourite local sights and attractions?

To celebrate the best of what the region has to offer, System One travelcards is giving the people of Rochdale the opportunity to nominate their best loved locations to be named as one of the top ten ‘Wonders of Greater Manchester’.

Be it a local park, city centre museum or a peaceful countryside spot, System One is urging the people of the region to send in suggestions and pictures of their personal ‘wonders’.  Nominations can be sent via post or email, or added directly to the Wonders of Greater Manchester Facebook page, to ensure that they are in with a chance of being included in the top ten.

As well as championing locations in Rochdale the next 20 people to post an image to the Facebook group will also receive a free one day Bus Saver from System One, to make reaching favourite destinations even easier. The person providing the most popular image submitted to the Facebook page will before voting begins will then also win an annual System One bus saver, worth over £600.

The deadline for nominations is midnight on Thursday 30 September after which a shortlist will be announced, and voting for the top ten wonders of Greater Manchester will commence.
Allie Johns, from System One travelcards, said: “Greater Manchester is packed with fantastic sights and venues and we’d like local people to celebrate the places closest to their hearts to spread the word and get their favourite place listed in the ‘Top 10 Wonders of Greater Manchester.’
