Teaching assistant faces drugs charge
Date published: 10 September 2010
A Rochdale teaching assistant has been charged with possession of cocaine and cannabis with intent to supply.
Farrukh Hussein, 38, of King Street South, Rochdale, works as a teaching assistant at the Essa Academy in Bolton but was suspended from his job following his arrest.
The charges follow a raid by police at an apartment in Bolton in February where £41,000 worth of cocaine and cannabis was discovered. Officers also seized £10,000 in cash during the raid.
27 year-old Assad Nadin from Bolton has been charged with the same offences as Mr Hussein.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Farrukh Hussein and Assad Nadin have both been charged with two counts of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply and possession of class B drugs with intent to supply.”
The pair have been released on bail and are due to appear before Bolton Magistrates Court next Friday (17 September).
