St John’s RC Primary School

To begin with here are some dates you may wish to make a note of:
- Welcome Mass in the school hall at 9.15am on Thursday 16 September
- Class 4 on a visit to Jodrell Bank telescope in Cheshire. Packed lunches are provided and children must be in school by five to nine or they will not be able to go
- Year 6 begin their music project working with a member of the Halle orchestra on Monday 20 September 4 – 5.30pm and on Wednesday 22 September the class will be going to the Bridgewater Hall to a Halle orchestra concert
- Tuesday 21 September our new Reception class pupils will have their class photograph taken
- 15 children from KS2 will begin a new ‘after-school club’ on Thursday 23 September. Further details will go out from school.
Robinwood residential weekend 2010
35 children and four staff had a superb time last weekend at Dobroyd Castle Centre in Todmorden. The weather was great, the children were great, the staff were great! What a fantastic way to start the school year off. A CD of photographs is available from school for a £1 donation – not to be missed.
Parking and traffic issues
Parents and carers, please be aware of new parking restrictions in the area around school. Also please check the local press for details of road closures in relation to the new Metrolink construction work which is in progress. Children’s safety is of course paramount so please make use of the school crossing patrol where appropriate and make sure children are well supervised at all times.
Family Holidays
Thank you for only taking family holidays during school holiday time. No family holidays will be authorised during term time. If your child is off school at any time due to illness then please contact the school office first thing to let us know. Many thanks again.
