Matthew Di Rosa with some of the young swimmers that he coaches
The Rochdale Swimming Club is all smiles after the news that member Mathew Di Rosa passed the UKCC Level 1 for teaching aquatics.
Mr Di Rosa, 18, volunteers at the Rochdale Swimming Club and gives up much of his time to help the younger club members.
Head coach Mark Lord said: "Matthew is one of the most enthusiastic people I have ever met and I am very impressed at the way Matthew is able to motivate and encourage.
“He still competes for Rochdale swimming club and trains with the team, as well as attending Bury college and holding down a part-time job.
“Matthew is a true inspiration to all the people he meets and is a beacon for Rochdale swimming clubs developing coaches.
“I am sure this is the start of a bright future for Matthew and he is aiming to complete his level 2 course in the new year".
