Hospice calendar launched
Date published: 03 September 2010

The calendar is available for £3.50 from all Springhill Hospice shops, from the Hospice Reception on Broad Lane and in many other outlets across the Borough
The 2011 Springhill Hospice Calendar featuring locations from across the borough taken by local photographers has been launched.
The calendar, which is sponsored by the Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre, was unveiled at a special event attended by the Mayor of Rochdale, Councillor Ali, Simon Danczuk MP, trustees of Springhill Hospice and invited guests.
The hunt to find suitable photographs began in February this year when the Rochdale Calendar Competition was launched entries were then put on display in the Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre for a public vote to find the most popular picture.
This year that honour goes to ‘Town Hall Square in Bloom,’ taken by Ian Baxter-Wild, which graces the front cover of the calendar.
Each photographer who has a picture in the calendar receives a copy of the calendar and a gift voucher from Pennine Photography on Drake Street.
Ian Jenkins, Fundraising Manager for Springhill Hospice, said: “Last year, as always, the calendar was sent around the world to ex-pat Rochdalians – in fact there is a lady in Canada who rings me up every year to make sure she’s on our distribution list and I spoke with her just last week!
“May I take this opportunity to thank each and every contributor and all of our sponsors for providing us with another wonderful calendar this year.”
The calendar is available for £3.50 from all Springhill Hospice shops, from the Hospice Reception on Broad Lane and in many other outlets across the Borough.
