Siddal Moor School Prom 2010

Date published: 02 July 2010

Siddal Moor students were given the red carpet treatment as they arrived at the Bella Vista restaurant for their high school prom.

The school pupils looked outstanding in their multi-coloured dresses and suits and were certainly ready for a night of celebration before moving on to the next stepping stone in their lives.

Tonight seemed to be the perfect prom, with great weather and great outfits – and there could be no complaints from the students because they organised the whole thing.

The prom committee were responsible for every detail from the venue to table decorations.

Teacher Lesley Willcock spoke very highly of the year 11 pupils, “They are absolutely fabulous,” she said.

“They have been fantastic to work with they are lovely students and I am very sorry to see them go.

“They left about three or four weeks ago after finishing their exams and I am already missing them.”

Nicole Porter said she is very sad to be leaving the school. “I have had a good five years and made the best friends,” she said.

In September Nicole will be joining the Uniformed Services course at Hopwood Hall College to pursue her dream career of being a police officer.

Jack Brown is looking forward to starting Bury College in September but is going to miss the school.

“I am ready to move on and learn new things, I am going to Bury College to study science and maths but I will miss the school and all my friends,” he said.
