Attempted armed robbery in Middleton

Police in Middleton are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery at a taxi company.
At approximately 4.10am in the early hours of Monday 11 September 2006, it is believed two men dressed in black walked into the public waiting area of Crown Private Hire on Windermere Road in Middleton, one of them threatened a member of staff with a knife and demanded money.
When told there was no money in the office, both men left the building and turned left onto Windermere Road.
Anybody who witnessed this incident is asked to contact police in Middleton on 0161 856 4646 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
