Robbery at betting shop in Middleton

Police in Rochdale are appealing for witnesses after a robbery at a betting shop on Chapel walk in Middleton.

At around 6.10pm on Thursday 30 November 2006, three men entered Gilbert Allen and Sons through the front door.

Two of the offenders ripped two plasma screen televisions from the wall, whilst the other offender jumped over the counter and threatened the cashier with violence, before stealing a substantial amount of cash.

There were no injuries although the staff were left extremely shaken.

The offenders are described as white, in their late teens to early twenties, and were wearing dark clothing with hoods pulled down to their eyebrows, as well as scarves covering their faces.

One of them is described as about 6’ with brown eyes; one is about 5’11 and the remaining offender is about 5’7”.
