Springhill Hospice Spring Fair

Date published: 18 March 2007

The annual Spring Fair at Springhill Hospice will be held on Sunday 1 April 2007 from 10.00am to 3.00pm with free entry for everyone.

The success of previous fairs has been largely due to the marvelous generosity of supporters and friends who have donated so many gifts to the Hospice. Once again, to ensure a successful event, the Hospice requires donations of good quality items of jewellery, toiletries, records, CDs, DVDs, cassettes, plants, craft items, books, bric-a-brac, toys, games, bottles for the tombola stall and, in particular, home-made cakes and pastries.

This year the event will also feature stalls outside, including a pot shy and coconut shy and the Birch Radio Roadshow.

Donations for this year’s Fair can all be delivered to reception at the Hospice on Broad Lane, Rochdale between 9.00am and 8.00pm any day. Alternatively gifts can be collected by telephoning the Hospice Fundraising Office on 01706 711144 during office hours. Unfortunately, electrical goods can not be accepted.

Ian Jenkins, Springhill Hospice Fundraising Manager, says: “We are particularly indebted to Springhill High School, James Lewis Travel, Middleton Round Table and our volunteers and staff for their valued support of our fairs and we are looking forward to another excellent Spring Fair.

"This year we will have the usual wide variety of stalls, a children’s activity room and Easter Egg Hunt, and Splodge the Clown will be paying a visit - and you can have your photo taken with the Easter Bunny just in time for Easter! Everyone is most welcome to come along.

"In order to alleviate parking problems on the day, arrangements have once again been made with Springhill High School, Turf Hill Road, and James Lewis Travel to run a free Park and Ride facility to and from the school car park to the Hospice. I strongly advise that people use this service to get to the fair as parking spaces at the Hospice are limited.”
