Young consumers from Alderman Kay School, Middleton, are celebrating after finishing runners-up in the regional finals of the national Consumer Challenge Quiz.
The team of four won a £150 cheque for their school as well as individual medals and certificates. Their mascot, Kay, also managed to pick up a prize of chocolates.
In the run-up to the quiz, the team swotted up on a wide range of consumer issues helped by their teacher, Nigel Ainsworth-Barnes, and Ve Nutter, a Fair Trading Officer from Rochdale Council's Trading Standards Service.
Ve Nutter said: "The team worked exceptionally well together and were a credit to the school and to the Borough. The quiz was very exciting and the students really enjoyed themselves."
The regional final, held at Ashton Civic Hall in Ashton Town Hall, was part of a national competition organised by trading standards to give pupils studying at special schools the opportunity to improve their understanding of food labelling, consumer rights and other consumer issues.
