Tribe skateboarding at the Broadwater Centre

Date published: 25 July 2007

The Backdoor Project have booked Tribe Enterprises to run a Skateboarding event at the Broadwater Centre. The event will be held on 7 August, 12 noon until 5pm, with music, games, etc.

Tribe Enterprises provide mobile skatepark events and mobile skate park packages for those wishing to meet young peoples needs where they are. Tribe are the UKs leading provider of one off skate event days, training worrkshops, permanent skatepark launch events and competition days, and mobile skate ramps.

Tribe launched in 1998 as a direct response to a lack of quality skate park provision and the lack of good, independent advice for those seeking to provide such facilities.

Their aim is to provide the highly professional services required by local authorities whilst also serving the same young people whose needs they are endeavouring to meet.

Spokeswoman for the Backdoor Project Carol Moore said: "A new group of young people have asked us to help them set up this facility.

"If there are any older skateboarders out there who would like to become new volunteers that would be great as we are looking to make it a weekly session and we will need the extra help.

"So far we have been supported by the Rochdale Township."
