Police arrest drug driver after pursuit

Officers from the Kirkholt Neighbourhood Team in Rochdale swiftly apprehended a suspected drug driver on Sunday night (5 January), showcasing their commitment to local road safety.
The officers identified a vehicle believed to be operated under the influence of drugs. When the vehicle was brought to a stop, the driver attempted to flee the scene on foot - though the officers quickly pursued and detained the individual.
The driver was subsequently arrested on suspicion of multiple offences, including driving under the influence of drugs, as per Section 5a of the Road Traffic Act, driving without a valid licence, and operating a vehicle without insurance.
This incident underscores the Kirkholt team’s dedication to tackling road safety issues in Rochdale, ensuring that reckless and illegal driving behaviours are promptly addressed.
