Area taped off after man attacked in the street

An investigation has been launched following reports of a man being assaulted in Rochdale late on Friday night (11 October).
The incident is believed to have occurred on Hillcrest Road in Castleton. Police were called to the scene shortly after the attack was reported, and a cordon was swiftly established along the street.
Officers remained at the scene overnight, with the area still taped off into Saturday morning as enquiries continued.
Authorities have yet to provide further details about the condition of the victim or the circumstances surrounding the attack.
The investigation remains ongoing, and residents in the area are encouraged to come forward with any information that may assist police in their enquiries.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "We are investigating a reported assault of a man on Hillcrest Road, Rochdale at 11.10pm on Friday 11 October 2024.
"The investigation is at an early stage and enquiries are ongoing to determine the full circumstances of what happened.
"No arrests have been made as yet."
