Young people experience 'unforgettable' residential trip

Date published: 06 November 2023

A group of enthusiastic young people from Rochdale recently enjoyed a two-night residential experience with Greater Manchester charity Become United.

This adventure, made possible by the generous support of Rochdale Borough Council through the Rochdale township and delivered by Become United, provided the participants with a chance to explore the great outdoors, challenge their limits, and create lifelong memories.

The itinerary included team-building activities, nature hikes, campfires, and workshops designed to impart valuable life skills.

Rochdale Township provided the funding for this initiative as part of its commitment to enriching the lives of young people in the community. The investment not only offered the participants an opportunity to develop life skills but also promoted a sense of community and togetherness among them.

Hafizur Rahman, who spearheaded the initiative and is a representative of Become United, was thrilled to see the positive impact the residential had on the young participants.

He shared his thoughts on the event, saying: "This residential was a unique opportunity for the young people of Rochdale. Many of them had never experienced anything like this before, and it was truly heartwarming to witness their excitement and growth throughout the trip."

"Rochdale Township's support was instrumental in making this event a reality," Hafizur continued. "Their commitment to our community's youth is commendable, and it has resulted in an experience that has left a lasting impact on all involved."

Become United also has a new girls’ youth club, starting on Sunday 5 November.
