Mayor of Rochdale presents special shield

Date published: 23 October 2023

The Mayor of Rochdale, Councillor Mike Holly, recently presented a special shield to the outgoing manager of the NADRA department at the Pakistan Consulate in Manchester.

Mayor Holly presented Syed Imran Haider with the award at the Spotland and Falinge Community Centre and thanked him for his services to the Rochdale borough, especially for the Pakistani and Kashmiri communities.

NADRA – National Database and Registration Authority – is a department which deals with dual nationalities of Pakistani and Kashmiri people and issues the Pakistani National Identity Card.

Regular NADRA surgeries take place at Castlemere Community Centre and Spotland Community Centre where people can receive their Pakistani National Identity Cards.

The surgeries are especially beneficial for those who have work commitments and cannot travel to Manchester and those who have disabilities. They are run by local councillors Aasim Rashid, Aiza Rashid, Faisal Rana, Iram Faisal, Mohammed Arshad and Shahid Mohammed.

Community leaders and Hafiz Abdulmalik, manager of Castlemere Community Centre, also thanked Tariq Wariz, the Consul General of Pakistan, for his full support towards the Pakistani and Kashmiri communities of the Rochdale borough.
