Successful end of year championships for K Stars Morris Dancing Troupe

K Stars Morris Dancing Troupe
Local Morris dancers from the K Stars Morris Dancing Troupe returned from the end of year championships in Wales with very successful results.
The championships took place at Pontins, Wales over the first weekend of September and saw the troupe scoop 20 awards in total, which include the following results:
Marching Comp Winners:
- Dinkies – Isabella Hibbert-Jones
- Tinies – Lilly O’Leary
- Tinies – Gracie McDermott
- Juniors – Gracie McDermott
- Senior Silver – Tracye Charlton
- Senior Platinum – Kirsty Fearnehough
Dinky Silver – 3rd Place
- Champion Leader – Lola Calverley
- Leader of the Year – Lola Calverley
- Mascot of the Year - Dolcie Pickup
Dinky Gold
- Champion Mascot – Lacey-May O’Leary
- Dancer of the Year – Daisy-Mae Fernandes
- Leader of the Year – Ruby Greenwood
- Mascot of the Year – Lacey-May O’Leary
Tinies – 2nd Place
- Troupe of the Year
- Special Award from Lisa Thompson – Kayla Fearnehough
Juniors – 3rd Place
- Troupe of the Year
- Leader of the Year – Ellie Simpson
Troupe Principal, Kirsty Fearnehough, said: “I am so very proud of each and every single one of our dancers and they have trained so hard over the past season, extra practises, displays etc.
“Our troupe motto is ‘passion, purpose and pride’ and they all definitely showed this over the weekend. I wish you the best luck to each one of you for our 2024 season.”
K Stars is now recruiting for the new 2024 season, which commenced at St. Thomas Church, Kirkholt, Rochdale from Friday 22 September from 5pm – 8pm.
