Whitworth Business & Community Awards to be held in October

The Whitworth Business & Community Awards will be held at The Ashcroft on Saturday 28 October.

Mayor Councillor Mike Royds will present awards to businesses and community groups who have shown that they care for the people of Whitworth and the community in general.

The Mayor said: “I have been inspired by the community and local businesses for the way they have helped each other during some difficult times in recent years, which really does show what can be achieved by working together.”

Residents can nominate businesses or community groups by emailing the mayor on cllrmikeroyds@whitworth.gov.uk. Nominations close on 21 October.

Business categories:

  • Small business award
  • Sole trader award
  • Single shop business award
  • Large business award
  • Business serving whitworth from close by award

Community awards:

  • School project award
  • Group activities award (dance/band/sports)
  • Voluntary organisation award

The night will start with doors opening from 6.30pm with the event getting underway at 7pm, guests will be entertained by MC Chris Britten and local vocalist Victoria Sladen.

Tickets are priced at £12 per person (£8 for children aged 10 and under) available from Whitworth Town Council Offices located at The Ashcroft, Market Street, Whitworth OL12 8DP.

Proceeds from this event with be shared 50/50 with the Mayor’s Charity fund and Save Whitworth Pool.
