A Littleborough man has been shortlisted for an ‘I Love Manchester’ Award.
Stephen Hobson, who works for Apex Computing in Manchester, has been nominated for the Innovator of the Year Award for “his outstanding contribution to business” in Manchester.
His nomination says he was “instrumental in helping businesses with support and advice throughout Covid-19, always prioritising ethics over personal gain,” adding he has “has been a proud Forever Manchester ambassador and continues to support and advise charities outside of his work environment.”
It continues: “Alongside his dedication to his family, Stephen is also often hidden in the background, acting as an 'Invisible Santa' on many occasions, helping families with presents and support over the holiday period.”
At work, Stephen provides IT support to some of the region's leading businesses. I Love Manchester says his “openness and experience have helped multiple businesses with digital transformation and adoption of IT and cyber security services.”
Stephen has also helped a homeless charity implement a new IT system.
His wife, Paigan, said: “I’m so proud my husband has been nominated. He is such a modest family guy and it would be amazing if we could get behind him as a community and vote for him.
“It’s not often people of the Rochdale borough are recognised in the city.”
The I Love Manchester Awards champion people and celebrate civic pride; to vote for Stephen, please use this form.
Voting closes on 9 October and winners will be announced at a glitzy show and ceremony on 23 November at DieCast Manchester.
