Three lanes of the M62 eastbound between J21 Milnrow and J22 Denshaw have been closed following a collision on Thursday afternoon (14 September).
The eastbound carriageway was brought to a standstill at around 2.30pm, following a collision involving three vehicles this afternoon.
One vehicle caught fire although this has now been extinguished, but there has been a fuel spillage across the carriageway.
All three lanes are blocked but traffic is passing the crash scene via the hard shoulder.
However, significant journey delays are expected, and road users are advised to plan their journeys and avoid the area if possible.
