Pair plead guilty to dumping Kerry Newman’s body on footpath

Kerry Newman was found dead behind Sandbrook Park
A man and a woman have pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice after dumping Kerry Newman’s body on a footpath.
Robert Halliwell, 48, of Rochdale, and Melanie Bullen, 52, of Rochdale, pleaded guilty to the charges at Minshull Street Crown Court on 25 August.

Mum-of-two Kerry, 40, was sadly found dead on a footpath behind Sandbrook Park during the early hours of 17 July.

Enquiries have confirmed that Kerry was taken from an address in Freehold to New Barn Lane.
Kerry’s mother and stepfather described her as 'a loving daughter and mother of two boys, taken away from us too soon' in a tribute.
Sentencing will take place on 15 September.
