Community welfare focus for Eastleigh fixture

Date published: 16 August 2023

Rochdale AFC’s fixture against Eastleigh on Saturday 19 August has been designated as its community welfare game.

Rochdale AFC Community Trust will be showcasing the work they do around cost-of-living support, free activities that are available and the ‘Dale Food Pantry’.

The club is asking anyone attending the game or in the week leading up to the game to donate items to the food pantry. During the week items can be dropped off at the community office between 10am and 4pm. On matchday, items can be dropped off at the blue bus between 1.30pm - 3pm.

In exchange for every item you donate you will receive a raffle ticket per item. You will then go into a draw to win the Ultimate Matchday Experience, including:

  • Match-day hospitality in the 1907 Lounge for 6 people
  • Behind the scenes tour
  • Mascot for the day
  • A full Rochdale AFC Playing kit
  • Signed football

Products you may bring include;

  • Tinned items; tomatoes, beans, vegetables, soup, tuna, hotdogs etc.
  • Cereals
  • Pasta
  • Rice
  • Noodles
  • Lifelong milk
  • Toiletry items; sanitary products, shampoo, body wash, soap, toothpaste & toothbrushes etc.

On matchday the Community Trust's inclusion coordinator Liz will be available at the ‘One Stop Bus Stop’ located on Pearl Street. Liz will be discussing everything on offer to support the current cost of living crisis and help signpost to other organisations who can help provide further support. The health and wellbeing coordinator Chloe will be available at the bus to collect any donations and discuss food support or how you can support the ‘Dale Food Pantry’. The food pantry currently helps up to 35 people per week and is aimed at being a top up shop of cupboard essentials to help those who may need some further support.

Dale Food Pantry users will also be attending the fixture.

Any donations to the food pantry will be much appreciated.
