Firefighters spent an hour tackling a car fire at the Rochdale park and ride car park next to the railway station on Friday afternoon (4 August).

Three vehicles were burnt out during the blaze, which saw one fire engine from Manchester quickly attend the scene alongside the police.

A cause hasn't yet been identified and enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “At approximately 1.20pm on Friday, firefighters were called to reports of a vehicle fire.

“The fire involved three cars in a car park. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguish the fire.”
