Local charity Action Together has achieved the Volunteer Centre Quality Accreditation (VCQA).
The Volunteer Centre Quality Accreditation is the only quality certification process designed specifically for local Volunteer Centres.
It recognises Action Together as the place to go for people who want to get involved in local volunteering, and the quality and impact of the support they offer to voluntary and community organisations across Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside.
This is a re-accreditation of the award for Action Together in Oldham and Tameside, but this is the first time it has been recognised for its work in Rochdale too. Action Together is now the recognised Volunteer Centre for Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside.
This certification confirms the quality mark for Action Together delivering the five local Volunteer Centre functions:
- Strategic development of volunteers
- Good practice development
- Brokerage
- Developing volunteer opportunities
- Voice of volunteering
It provides assurance to members of the public seeking volunteering opportunities, volunteer involving organisations, partner, commissioner and funding organisations, that Action Together provides a high quality and effective local service.
Sian Goodwin, operations manager at Action Together, said: “We are delighted with the outcome of this award, especially for our teams who are passionate about volunteering and the difference it makes to the individual and our communities.
“With this award, we will continue to champion and develop volunteering with our members and partners across Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside, to ensure volunteering is recognised, celebrated and available to all.”
Action Together connect people who want to volunteer with local charities and voluntary organisations looking for volunteers. Whatever time you have available or skills you have to offer, if you want to volunteer then they can find a role that’s right for you.
