Rochdale Classic Car and Motorcycle Show in top gear again

Date published: 20 July 2023

Despite a damp morning start at Falinge Park, the Rochdale Rotary annual car show went well on Sunday 16 July.

Over 200 cars and many craft and artisan goods stalls were open for business and pleasure. Rochdale’s Fireground museum volunteers also brought two fire engines for visitors to explore.

Roch Valley Radio provided background music and announcements while GM-Raynet volunteers gave communication support.

A total of nearly £7,500 was made which will go to then-President of Rochdale Rotary Selwyn Hodge’s selected charities, Place2B and Papyrus. These support children with mental health issues and those at suicide risk.

The winner of the Car of the Show award was Philip Dean with his Triumph TR4A Sports car in magnificent condition built in 1966.

A spokesperson for Rochdale Rotary Club said: “Many thanks go the Vintage Worx Community Development Trust team who run the park and expertly organised the catering and facilities for the show.

“Also thanks to Premier Automotive, our main sponsor.”

Next year’s show is on Sunday 21 July 2024.
