Linda Mainwaring becomes the 97th president of Rochdale Rotary Club

Date published: 24 July 2023

Linda Mainwaring has been named as the 97th president of Rochdale Rotary Club.

With over 30 Rotarians and friends in attendance at the handover event at the Masonic buildings on Richard Street, Linda received her chain of office from outgoing president Selwyn Hodge.

Selwyn congratulated Linda and thanked the members for supporting him during his year. The student health champions course at Rochdale Sixth Form had been a success and his charities, Papyrus and Place2B, were well supported by the club’s charity fundraising.

Linda has named her charities for this year as being Fireground, the Greater Manchester Fire Service Museum; the Rochdale Children’s Moorland Home; Littleborough Amateur Boxing and Fitness Club; Lytham St Anne’s Lifeboat Station; and the RNLI, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.

She said: “Those are my specific charities, which all have a personal significance for me. We shall also be continuing to work with the many organisations supported by the club and look forward to a busy and successful year.”
