Holy Family school closed after ‘threat made’

Holy Family RC & CE College in Heywood has been closed after ‘a threat’ was made on Monday morning (12 June).

Police were called to the school at around 10am after ‘a threat made towards the school’.

The school is now shut with all pupils sent home, but the school is expected to re-open as normal tomorrow.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the police said: “At around 10am today (Monday 12 June 2023), officers were called to a report of a threat made towards Holy Family RC and CE college in Wilton Grove, Heywood.

“Officers have attended and enquiries are ongoing.

“The school has closed as a precaution and is expected to re-open as normal tomorrow.”
