Falinge Park Bowling Club ladies' pavilion gets a facelift

Date published: 03 May 2023

The ladies' pavilion at Falinge Bowling Club has recently been given a facelift, having been painted in the team’s colours, and now with the addition of a covered seating area.

Members Neville Greenhalgh, Mick Catlow, Wendy Sunderland and Brian Ellis carried out the work on the pavilion, which has now been named the ‘Betty Starkey Terrace’ in honour of the club president Betty Starkey who generously contributed towards the cost of the much-needed work.

On 20 April, members of the bowling club, along with friends, attended an opening ceremony of the recently finished pavilion.

Betty was given the honour of cutting the ribbon to declare the pavilion officially open and was then presented with some flowers from the club.
