New small business and artisan craft market in Heywood aims to help disadvantaged families

Date published: 28 March 2023

A small business and artisan craft market in Heywood is aiming to help disadvantaged families.

From 9 April, Heywood’s Sunday Small Business and Artisan Craft Market will be held every second Sunday at the Civic Centre from 10am to 3pm.

The market is being brought to town by Heywood’s ‘fab four’ – Sandon House, Crimble Croft, Heady Hill and Back of the Moss community centres – in partnership with Your Trust.

The group hopes to raise enough money to help send disadvantaged families on holiday.

Jane Catz, of Back of the Moss Community Centre, said: “We are working together to raise funds to put on free family events and help disadvantaged families throughout the year, and we are hoping to generate enough money to send the families on holiday.”

Additional markets are planned for 14 May, 11 June, 9 July, 13 August and 13 September.
