Take on a challenge in 2023 for Springhill Hospice

Date published: 27 March 2023

Springhill Hospice supporters are asked to take on a challenge this year to raise vital funds for the service.

In 2022, over 50 intrepid walkers laced up their boots and took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks, a challenging full day circular route of hill walking in the Yorkshire Dales; approximately 24 miles in length with an elevation gain of over 1,000m.

Starting and finishing in Horton-in Ribblesdale, supporters will climb the summits of Pen-y-Ghent (694m), Whernside (736m) and Ingleborough (723m).

The challenge is to complete the walk within the 12 hours, and qualified and experienced guides will be with you every step of the way.

Springhill hopes to beat last year’s number of walkers, and set a new record for highest number of supporters taking on the Yorkshire Dales for the hospice.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge will take place on Saturday 29 July, please visit:

Springhill's skydiving challenge has also seen huge surge in popularity this year, with over 30 supporters already registered to take on a skydive.

Working with Skydive North West, supporters will be securely harnessed to a professional skydiver and will free-fall from up to 15,000 ft, reaching an incredible speed of about 120 mph.

The instructor deploys, flies and lands the parachute, allowing supporters to relax and enjoy stunning once-in-a-lifetime views of the Lake District.
