Date published: 26 March 2023

Healthwatch Rochdale has been awarded the Quality in Action Award, after demonstrating high quality across the organisation.

Action Together awarded Healthwatch Rochdale the Quality in Action Award after assessment of seven key areas that are essential to effective governance and management.

The award is a recognised framework for voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations working across Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside and is an independent, local seal of approval which demonstrates commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement.

Kate Jones, Healthwatch Rochdale chief executive officer, said: “We are delighted to have received this award.

“As an organisation we are continuously trying to develop and improve the quality of service that we deliver, and this award helps to demonstrate our commitment to that.

“We would like to thank Action Together for supporting us in developing key areas that needed improvement to achieve the award.”

Margaret Parker, Healthwatch chair of the board, said: “We are proud and pleased to have received this award.

“I wish to convey my thanks and appreciation to the staff team and Action Together in their collaboration work to ensure we effectively demonstrated the quality standards necessary.

“Also, my thanks for all the tremendous work of the team and great volunteers who ensure we deliver a quality, continuously improving service to the residents of Rochdale.”

On achieving the award, Action Together said: “These past 12 months we have been on a journey with Healthwatch Rochdale in supporting them to be at a level to achieve their Quality in Action award.

“Achieving this award demonstrates to local commissioners, funders, beneficiaries and other stakeholders that you are delivering quality activities and services.

“It has been an absolute pleasure working with you, seeing you grow from strength to strength through the key areas of the QiAA has been an absolute delight.

“I’m so very happy you have been able to achieve this award, very much well deserved.”
