Disability services wanted for Better Health 4 Middleton event

Date published: 06 February 2023

Better Health 4 Middleton is organising its next big event, providing support for those with disabilities, and information about issues affecting people over the age of 55.

The event will take place in April at the Lighthouse Project, and there are still stand spaces available for people with disabilities or disability services and organisations.

So far organisations like HMR Circle, Living Well, Your Trust, Adult Care, Transport for Greater Manchester, Greater Manchester Older People’s Network, Alzheimer’s Society and the DWP have all reserved a stand.

Tony Ettenfield, of Better Health 4 Middleton said: “We are looking for these free stand spaces to be taken by disabled people or disability services.

“We are keen to hear from people and organisations with disabilities of all kinds.

“Some disabilities are invisible. Hearing difficulties are invisible, as is dyslexia and dementia. All we need is your time to show people you are a normal person who just happens to have a disability, not a disease. You can’t catch a disability, but you can get a disability from a car accident or from birth. We want to show a positive side; what you can do and not what you can’t do.

“If you want to help by giving up a couple of hours of your time, please get in touch.”

Stand spaces are free of charge as is admission.

The event will take place from 11am-2pm on Friday 21 April.
