Springhill Hospice's annual Christmas tree collection raises vital funds

Date published: 11 January 2023

Real Christmas trees have helped raise vital funds for Springhill Hospice as part of its annual tree collection.

This year, over 100 homes around the borough donated their Christmas trees with a monetary contribution, contributing £1,635 towards patient care at the hospice.

The trees were chipped at Springhill by Norden tree surgery Special Branch, with the resulting mulch to be used on its award-winning grounds, part of the Rochdale In Bloom initiative, ensuring that nothing goes to waste.

Vicki Murray, of Springhill Hospice, said: "We have collected over a hundred trees from across the borough of Rochdale with the help of our amazing volunteers Dave from Jackson Jackson, Brett from H Bell and Sons, Lewis and Rhys from PLP, Paul Ellison and Iain Murray."
