Cannabis farm worth £1.8 million seized by police in Milnrow after illegal electricity connection catches fire

A cannabis farm worth £1.8 million was discovered and seized by police after an illegally bypassed electricity connection caught on fire in Milnrow on Saturday (12 November).

Emergency services were called to the Whitworth Street and Harbour Lane North area fter reports of a fire.

Police attended the scene where they discovered a large cannabis farm; a total of 1,800 cannabis plants worth a total £1.8 million street value, were seized from the premises and have since been destroyed.

Greater Manchester Police have since launched an investigation into the activity at the property and are conducting further enquiries.
